Registration is closed for this event
A field day to explore a beaver dam, pond-leveller, and learn about beaver ecology and their importance in our ecosystem, as well as ways to mitigate flooding due to beaver dams.

Guided by Carolyn Ross of Cows & Fish, we will tour a spectacular 200ft crescent beaver dam while learning about beaver ecology and how beavers can contribute to a healthy ecosystem. We will visit the site of a pond-leveller recently installed and discuss mitigation techniques when dealing with beavers on your property.

This field day would be suitable for landowners, farmers, developers, and anyone that would like to learn more about this incredible creature that shares, and transforms our waterways.

This workshop made possible by support from the Alberta Real Estate Foundation for ReThink Red Deer's "ReFraming the WaterShed" project. There is no cost to participate but registration is required. Please dress for the weather and wear proper footwear (e.g., work boots, mud boots, etc.)
