Repair Café: Household Repairs

Saturday, October 21, 12 to 3pm, Adults only, Red Deer Public Library - Dawe Branch

Repair Cafe

October 16 - 22 is International Repair Cafe Week!

Are you wondering if you should toss something broken? No way! You can repair it at Repair Café.

Repair Cafés are free meeting places and they’re all about repairing things (together). In the place where a Repair Café is located, you’ll find tools and materials to help you make any repairs you need.

Bring your items that need repair from home and repair them together with the specialists.

It’s an ongoing learning process. If you have nothing to repair, you can enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job. You can also get inspired at the reading table - by leafing through books on repairs and DIY.

Master Class sessions will be held on basic home repairs:

  • Electrical home repairs (e.g., rewiring lamps, changing light bulbs to eco-friendly options, etc.)
  • Sewing and mending clothing (e.g., hemming jeans, darning socks, repairing tears / rips)
  • More to come!

Repair Café is co-sponsored program by ReThink Red Deer and The Red Deer Public Library.
