Every fall, Red Deerians come out to clean the shoreline along the Red Deer River removing debris that has accumulated over the summer. The Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup is a national, fall initiative to help keep our waterways and shoreline clean and safe. Studies show that by the year 2050, 99 per cent of seabirds will have eaten plastic and there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Watch the promo video and see first hand why this event is so important.

The 2017 event will take place on:

Date: Sunday, September 10, 2017
Time: 12:30pm - 3:30pm (BBQ and prizes to follow)
Where: Kerry Wood Nature Centre, 6300 - 45 Avenue, Red Deer

Everyone who participates will enjoy the rewarding experience that comes from working together and "leaving it better than you found it". The event will end with a barbecue and a draw for great prizes.

There is no need to pre-register, but please wear appropriate footwear and bring gloves. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Certificates are available upon request.
