Food Forest WorkBee and Volunteer Orientation - Day 2

Saturday, June 10 from 7am to 2pm, Piper Creek Community Garden (40th Ave south Red Deer at the City Limits)




We will be repairing and replanting much of the Canada 150 Food Forest at the Piper Creek Community Gardens thanks to support from the City of Red Deer's Year of the Garden legacy initiative. We'll also offer an optional tour of the Piper Creek Restoration Agriculture site. This workbee is for anyone who wants to learn more about planting and maintaining a food forest (edible forest garden) in Central Alberta. 

Registration is requested but there is no cost to attend.

Donations to the Piper Creek Restoration Agriculture Project are welcome :)

What to bring:

  • gloves,
  • hat,
  • water,
  • snack,
  • closed-toe shoes or boots (working in mulch),
  • knee pads or something to kneel on, and
  • if you have it, a garden knife or hand spade
