To engage the community, a series of five introductory timber framing workshops to complete the timber frame barn raising at the Piper Creek Restoration Agriculture Project is being offered monthly from June through the end of September, culminating on Alberta Culture Days Weekend and a celebration at Garlic City Market!
Workshop #1 - Intro to the Sawer World
Workshop #2 - The History and Techniques of Timber Framing
Workshop #3 - Design and Techniques of Timber Framing
Workshop #4 - Modern Applications and Final Assembly
Workshop #5 - ReFraming the WaterShed Barn Raising
Led by seasoned timber framer, Wayne Froese (Top Peg Timber Frame Construction) and guest instructors, you can learn the history and basics of timber frame construction and get hands-on experience to help build a full-scale timber frame barn dubbed, "The Water Shed" at the end of September*

Individual workshops (1 through 4) can be registered for individually, but you must register for and attend all five if you want to be part of the barn raising from Sept 26 - 28.
