Saturday August 24 - 9am to 5pm both days - multiple locations including the Piper Creek Community Garden site (40th Ave, south Red Deer)

This is the third of five introductory timber framing workshops to help prepare the materials for the timber frame barn raising at the Piper Creek Restoration Agriculture Project! Led by seasoned timber framer, Wayne Froese (Top Peg Timber Frame Construction) and guest instructors, you will learn the history and basics of timber frame construction and get hands-on experience to help build a full-scale timber frame barn dubbed, "The Water Shed" at the end of September*

Morning: Design, engineering, building codes and beam sizing. Layout continued from Workshop #2 including mapping and considering variations in timber sizes: square rule. 

Afternoon: Cutting posts, mortises, and pegging for joinery support.
